Women in Mining UK is thrilled to publish the 2022 edition of its “100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining” (WIM100), a biennial publication that highlights the wealth of female talent within the global mining industry, celebrates women's “above & beyond” contributions to the industry, and identifies role models for future generations.
In 2022, WIM UK received 915 nominations for 491 women from 61 countries. This edition has been kindly sponsored by BMO Capital Markets, Heidrick & Struggles and BCG (Boston Consulting Group).
The organization Women In Mining of the United Kingdom (WIM UK) recognized two women from Fresnillo Zacatecas among the 100 Inspiring Women of the World of Mining: Doris Vega from Compañía Minera Cuzcatlán and Elsa Saucedo from Minera Autlán.
Both originally from the municipality of Fresnillo in Zacatecas Mexico, Doris Vega has extensive experience as a communicator and coordinator of government relations in the sector; while Elsa Saucedo works as sustainability manager.

Through their stories, they show us how they have persevered in the face of adversity, how they have found solutions to challenges, and how they are empowering others by being a voice and leader for a more successful and sustainable mining industry. Their stories provide inspiration and valuable insight for all.
These publications highlight the incredible diversity of talent in mining and we believe the recognition and celebration of these inspirational women and their stories are integral to changing attitudes in the sector.
